Where on Earth are we going? And, what can we do about it? Introducing: The Pachamama Alliance
These questions are at the heart of the Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream symposium -- a profound inquiry into a bold vision: to bring forth an environmentally sustainable, socially just and spiritually fulfilling human presence on this planet – our Mother Earth.
The Pachamama Alliance, a San Francisco-based organization, offers a range of experiences – symposiums, journeys, youth programs, resources, videos, etc. to transform our worldview and inspire us to shift the systems and structures that separate us so that we become each others strongest allies.
The Alliance is a partnership with the indigenous people of the Amazon rainforest who have invited us – the people of the north – to partner with them in preserving their lands and culture, and to work together to bring forth a thriving, just and sustainable world. - See more at: http://www.pachamama.org

The solutions to the challenges we’re facing as a human family already exist. What we’re missing is the popular will to implement those solutions now.
Want to create The Great Turning? Meet Joanna Macy: Author, Activist, Elder
Joanna is a woman of great intellect and ferocious compassion, who has created a framework for personal and social change that offers eloquent and compelling insights into the roots of the pain and despair that many of us feel; and then points the way forward out of apathy to the “Work That Reconnects.” Inspired by our love for life and acknowledging our pain for the world, Joanna’s understanding of deep ecology and systems theory creates a paradigm and exercises that enables us to see with new eyes and go forth to create The Great Turning -- to a sustainable civilization.
The Great Turning can be brought about by: 1. Holding actions in defense of Earth 2. Creation of alternative institutions 3. Shifts in consciousness
Active Hope is not wishful thinking. Active Hope is not waiting to be rescued by the Lone Ranger or by some savior. Active Hope is waking up to the beauty of life on whose behalf we can act. Read more in: Active Hope by Joanna Macy & Chris Johnstone
